What's up

The following protocols have been put in place to protect our patrons and our staff over the next 2 weeks:

  • All outreach services have been suspended,

  • Returning Library material can be placed in designated bins outside the Libraries,

  • All returns will be sanitized and placed under quarantine for 72 hours before circulating again,

  • Libraries will be offering curb side services whereby :

  • Patrons may request material telephonically or via email,

  • Library materials on loan can be returned/dropped off at your library at bins provided,

  • Staff will prepare the material to be collected by patrons daily from Monday to Friday at the library entrance; library membership cards must be presented when collecting material (Outside pick-ups and drop-offs of requested materials),

  • There will be an opportunity for unlimited renewals and fines will be waived.

  • We trust that together we will continue to harness the love of reading while keeping everyone safe.

  • The catalogue of all TWK libraries is now available online. Which means that you can search for a book and order it if our library does not have it. Use this link to explore.

  • Members may lend up to 10 books for 2 weeks, with the option to renew. Members may also order books from other libraries.

  • The library also has some films and audio books available for lending.

  • We are also proud to be the first Theewaterskloof library to host a mini-library for the blind. Members who need this service receive an audioplayer as long as needed. Please discuss the terms with a staff member.

  • There is a computer at the library for public use. Please ask a staff member for more information.

  • The library serves the community through after school support and holiday programs. We hope to resume these programs as soon as all lockdown restrictions have been lifted.
